The DIY Wedding
53Save the Dates that Save Money
My fiance and I just booked a date for our wedding. I couldn't be more excited because we've been engaged for almost 6 months now, but the church where we want to get married doesn't allow you to reserve until 8 months before your date. Anyway, I finally get to put all of my wedding ideas into motion, and believe me, I'm all about saving money, so I've decided to start a series of Hubs that detail how I'm saving money on my wedding, so that maybe you can use some of the ideas for yours!
So, rather than spend a lot on pricey save the date magnets or boxes or whatever, we have decided to order postcards. Costco does postcards where you can upload your own photo, and they are delivered right to your door! These only cost 69 cents per card, and a 4x6in postcard only costs 28 cents to mail, versus the 44 cents it costs to mail a letter.
Another great way to save money on save the dates is to e-mail them. But, we decided that we wanted to give something more tangible for people, something they can hang on their fridge or bulletin board.
